  • Vilaytan Go Gayee Lyrics, Meaning & English Translation Gurdas Maan

    Song: Vilaytan Ho Gayee
    Artist: Gurdas Maan

    Vilaytan Ho Gayee

    La Li wich Pardesan Yaari
    Doli Chad Gi Ram Pyari
    Chadeya India Maar Udaari
    Sir Soohi Phulkari
    Vilaytan Ho GI Oye
    Tereyan Dukhan Di Maari

    She fell for a foreigner
    Ram's lover got married
She flew and left India behind
    with bridle-wear
    became a foreigner
due to the troubles you caused

    Vich Vilaytan Ki Ki Hoya
    Das Di Fire Vichari
    Vilaytan Ho GI Oye
    Tereyan Dukhan Di Maari

What happened to her in the foreign land
    Poor lady is telling everyone
    became a foreigner
due to the troubles you caused

    Gharwale Nu Kehndi Mar jaye
Ve Jaye Khaane Da Beda Tar Jaaye
Pind Di Banto Gent Bana Ti
Kyu Salwaar Di Pant Bana Ti
    Rang Barange Kapde Pa Ke
    Chalda Firda Tent Bana Ti
    Million Dollar Di Meri Beauty
Bekadre Ne 1 Cent Bana Ti
    Goreyan Di Servant Bana Ti
    India Di Sardari

She hopes that her husband dies (playfully)
I hope he misses his boat
He made a Gentlemen out of innocent Banto
He made her wear pants instead of Punjabi suit
He made her wear weird colored clothes
which made her look like a walking tent
    Million dollar beauty of hers
was made worth just a cent
    He made her a servant
but in India she used to rule

    Vilaytan Ho GI Oye
    Tereyan Dukhan Di Maari

    became a foreigner
due to the troubles you caused

    Jad Bache Mainu Bolan Aunty
    Vich Khopdi Bajjdi Ghanti
Ah Jinne Vi Ne Bunty Shunty
    Ji Karda Main Laavan Fainti
    Taayi Chachi Bhooya Maasi
    Ikko Rishtedari

    When kids call me aunty
A bell rings in my brain
    All these Bunty & Shunty's
I want to give them a good lesson
    Taayi, Chachi, Bhooya, Maasi
Instead of all these different names, the kids only say Aunty

    Vilaytan Ho GI Oye
    Tereyan Dukhan Di Maari

    became a foreigner
due to the troubles you caused

Lao Ji 26 January Ho Geya Danga
    Main Paaya Si Suit Tiranga
Gori De Naal Pe Geya Panga
    Mainu Kehndi Mr. Singha
    Indian People No Changa
Khad Ja Teri Maa Di Bhen Di
    Kadhi Gaal Karaari
    Vilaytan Ho GI Oye
    Tereyan Dukhan Di Maari

On 26 January, there was a riot
    I was wearing a tri-colored suit
One white lady caused a problem
    She said to me,"Mr. Singh"
    Indian People are no good
I said, "stop here sister f*****, mother****"
    I cursed at her
    I have become a foreigner
due to the troubles you caused

    Khadi Khadoti Gori Bhaj Gayi
Bhaji Jaandi De Main Angreji Gitteyan De Wich Maari
    Ni I am miss India
    My father is patwari

    That white lady ran
I threw some more english words while she was running away
    I am miss India
and my father is a land record officer

Ve Je Gurdas Toon Geet Na Gaunda
    Mere Dukhde Kaun Vataunda
Kher Jo Rabb Karda Changa Hi Karda
Ve Puthiyan Sidhiyan Banda Hi Karda
Je Banto Da Viyaah Na Hunda
    Wich Vilaytan Aa Na Hunda
    Bhangre Paun Nu Pub-Clubban
    Ghummar Firn Nu caraan
Khaan Peen Nu Daru Murge Saste Miln Bajaaran
    Kamm Karn Nu Jobban Laggiyan
    Shabaashe Sarkarran
    Hindustani Pakistani
    Yaaran Naal Baharan
    Je Poundan Nu Jarbhan Deyiye
    Ban-de Note Hazaran
    Teri Rehmat Da
    Kithon Karz Utaran

Hey Gurdas, had you not sang this song
Who would've told what I have been through
Oh well, whatever happens,.... happens for good
It is only humans, who do right and wrong
    Had Banto not been married
She wouldn't have been able to come to a foreign land
There are clubs and pubs to do bhangra/dance
and there are cars to travel around
There is cheap chicken and alcohol to drink
    There are jobs to do
    thanks to the government
    Doesn't matter, Indian or Pakistani
    friends make life worthwhile
When we multiply Pounds into rupees
    we get lots of money
    Of your blessings

how can I every repay the debt

Teri Rehmat Da Kithon Karz Utaran

This entire song is sort of a scolding given to a husband by his wife. This girl, who used to live in a village in Punjab, had to move abroad because she married the guy who used to live abroad. She is saying to her husband that due to him, she became a foreigner.
